Karnataka govt. signs agreement with British Council

The Karnataka government has signed an agreement with the British Council to implement the Premier League Primary Stars program.

Agreement Details

Objective: The program aims to support primary school teachers and coaches in improving learning outcomes in physical education (PE) and personal, social, health, and economic education (PSHE).

Target Group: The pilot will involve 70 primary/PE teachers in Karnataka.

Goals: 

 1. To equip teachers with the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence. 

 2. To deliver high-quality PE and sports education.

3. To integrate physical activity into daily learning. 

4. To nurture well-rounded development and essential life skills in young learners.

Implementation and Impact 

Training: Teachers will receive training to enhance their ability to deliver engaging and effective PE lessons. 

Resources: The program will provide resources and support to teachers for the effective implementation of the curriculum.

Outcomes: Expected to improve the physical fitness, mental well-being, and social skills of students. 

Long-term Benefits: By fostering a positive attitude towards physical activity, the program aims to instill lifelong healthy habits in children.
