The Kavery Kutumba meet of riparian states is scheduled to be held on October 22, 2024, at the North Gate of Mysuru Palace from 11 AM.

About the Mekedatu and Rasimanal project
The Mekedatu project and the Rasimanal project are both proposals to build balancing reservoirs across the Cauvery River, but they have sparked significant debate and tension between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.
Mekedatu Project Location: Near Kanakapura in Ramanagara district, Karnataka. Purpose: The project aims to provide drinking water to Bengaluru and Ramanagara district, as well as generate hydro-electricity.
Rasimanal Project Location: In Tamil Nadu. Purpose: Proposed by Tamil Nadu farmers to counter the Mekedatu project and ensure their water needs are met.
