MIDORI Prize 2024The MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity 2024 has been awarded to two outstanding individuals for their exceptional contributions to conservation and sustainability.
Vera Voronova from Kazakhstan: She is the Executive Director of the Association for the Conservation of Biodiversity of Kazakhstan. Her work focuses on restoring ecosystems and recovering endangered species in Central Asia, significantly improving the lives of local rural communities.

2. Ysabel Agustina Calderón Carlos from Peru: She is the Founder and CEO of Sumak Kawsay, an environmental enterprise.

Her efforts are directed towards ecosystem restoration and preventing the decline of bees, among other conservation initiatives.

Each winner received a cash prize of $100,000, a commemorative gift, and a plaque.

The MIDORI Prize, established by the AEON Environmental Foundation and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), honors individuals who have made significant contributions to biodiversity conservation.
