Two individuals from Karnataka are among the 33 awardees of the National Awards for the Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities for the year 2024 conferred by President Droupadi Murmu.
The awardees are: 1. Dr. Suresh Hanagavadi from Davangere: He received the award for Individual Excellence in the category of Shreshth Divyangjan 2024. Dr. Hanagavadi, who has 70% haemophilia, has dedicated his life to improving haemophilia care.
His achievements include establishing Karnataka's first haemophilia treatment center and advocating for government support and public awareness
