UDAN scheme extended for 10 more years

UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme has been extended for 10 more years, until 2036, to boost regional air connectivity in India.

Achievements: Since its launch in 2016, the UDAN scheme has operationalized 601 routes and 71 airports, significantly enhancing regional connectivity.

Future Plans: The government plans to start 50 more airports and enhance the capacity of existing airports.

The goal is to have 350-400 operational airports by 2047.

Impact: The scheme has led to the birth and growth of regional airlines, job creation, and a boost to tourism.

The UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme is an initiative by the Government of India aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity and making air travel affordable for the common citizen.
